The team who created Escape Velocity Nova was from two companies: Ambrosia Software and ATMOS. Ambrosia is the company who had published the entire Escape Velocity trilogy. ATMOS created the scenario for Nova. Also, w00tware played a small role in developing some of the tools used to create Nova. Contraband Entertainment was originally responsible for porting Nova to Windows, but vanished before finishing the job.
Members of Ambrosia, ATMOS, and w00tware can be found flying in the game as përs ships. They are exceedingly hard to destroy, sometimes impossible. Managing to capture one of them results in the player having very powerful starship, but no room to add anything more, even if they empty half the stuff. Developer pers generally have very high shield/armor modifiers and carry a large amount of credits.
