The G-32 Fed Patrol Boat is a Federation ship in Escape Velocity Nova. In order to acquire a Patrol Boat, you either must have scouted Moash space for the Bureau, furthering their ambitions of controlling the Aurora Empire or disable and capture one.
"The concept of a fast boat with more firepower than a fighter and more speed than a capital ship has been around for the last millennium. The latest incarnation of this ideal is the Federation Patrol Boat. Named for the patrol boats that guarded Australia and the Pacific islands during World War II and beyond, the patrol boat is packed with anti-fighter weaponry. It's often used as a picket ship in fleet duty, or in its primary role as a patrol vessel in the outer territories." ― Buying a Patrol Boat
The Fed Patrol Boat is a corvette featuring expansive room for weaponry and balanced armor and shielding.
Stats[]
"Patrol Boats make excellent picket ships; good if you've got some weak cargo carriers in your fleet. Don't expect them to put up with too much punishment, though. The pilot seems eager to join a convoy, as a change from the normal patrol duties he performs." ― Hiring a Patrol Boat
Gunboat Class (#142)[]

The basic ship is a relative rarity in that it's almost the best variant available. It has a high amount of expansion space and a low disable threshold.
Despite having a jammer, the Patrol Boat does not require a Protective Technologies License. Neither does it require a Heavy Weapons License for its Medium Blasters. Instead, it requires a Missile Weapons License for the Rocket Pod that typically does not.
Wild Variants[]
Stat changes are relative to the stats of the basic model. The basic model is Gunboat Class. All Patrol Boat shipvariants feature an increased disable threshold, which impinges on the value of armor upgrades.
The following shipvariants are unavailable in the shipyard and must be captured in the field.

Gameplay Analysis[]
"The Patrol Boat is the heaviest of the Federation's fighters, with the exception of the RAGE Gunboat. It's a very powerful ship for it's size, and is quite powerful for it's role. While as a single ship it can be taken out easily, in packs of 3 (or supported by other fighter craft) the Patrol Boat can make quick work of enemies of the Federation." ― EVula Survival Guide
Up-armouring[]
This ship has a reasonable hull strength but it might be good to buy some Carbon Fiber or Titanium Lattice. The basic ship disables at 10%, so you'll get full effectiveness from it.
When the wild variants combine[]
A close-combat loadout uses an Ion Cannon, Hail Chainguns and Fusion Pulse Cannons to deal large amounts of damage at short or medium range.
The Town Inside Me[]
If you enjoy having fighters strip the standard weapons then buy a Thunderhead Bay, three Thunderheads and four Thunderhead Lances.
Images[]
The Fed Patrol Boat was made by Dave Williams, based off an initial sketch by Phil Chick. He misinterpreted the sketch and modeled the ship off-axis. Phil preferred it that way, which was a serendipitous result.
