Gameplay[]

"Great for taking out pesky fighters, the turret (when fired with the cannon) makes short work of pretty much any vessel." ― EVula Survival Guide

Its fairly low rate of fire means multiple turrets must be mounted to produce acceptable fire density.

This weapon has decay, and will lose a point or two of damage as they travel. Also, it may deal explosive damage to the parent ship if they are too close to the target. This doesn't matter much in larger vessels.

Fusion Pulse Turret on an Abomination

"As the FPC is cheap and easy to build, the Auroran houses have opted to mount a turreted version of the cannon on almost all ships. It's rare that you'll find even a freighter without the weapon, in either its forward-firing or its turreted versions. The turret adds some tracking to the otherwise slow FPC blasts, but the overall design is very effective. Just ask the Federation military commanders who have lost armadas to this chunky gun."

The Fusion Pulse Turret is the larger, turreted version of the Fusion Pulse Cannon.

Disabling Fusion Pulse Turret on a Duelist Abomination

"As the FPC is cheap and easy to build the Auroran houses have opted to mount a turreted version of the cannon on almost all ships. This particular version has been designed to specifically disable yet not destroy any targeted ships. Auroran warriors use this weapon as their weapon of choice in their many and varied duels, and some even mount it as their standard battle weapon, claiming that they only wish to defeat their opponents, not destroy them."

There's a disabling version available for purchase if you're an Auroran warrior. It's intended for non-lethal duels, but it also serves for plundering and capturing ships. It trades 7 reload time for an extra 1/2 damage.
