The Sigma Shipyards Star Liner is a civilian ship in Escape Velocity Nova. To acquire a Star Liner, you either must have completed a cargo delivery for Rodney Andrews and not have declined any of the more sensitive missions he offers you or disable and capture one. This craft is unavailable for most of the Vell-os Storyline.
"Interstellar tourism took off when the Hypergate system was instituted (particularly from Earth, which benefits from quick and easy transport from surface to orbit via the Kane Band). The mainstay of the industry is a fleet of vessels bearing a remarkable resemblance to the luxury liners of pre-Band times. A typical complement of crew and passengers is about three hundred. The ships themselves are speedy through hyperspace, and have mild shielding for protection against asteroids and to enable them to get close to some of the more spectacular phenomena." ― Buying a Star Liner
The Echo-class Star Liner is a luxury craft produced by Sigma Shipyards for the ultimate in hyperspace tourism. Capable of carrying approximately 300 passengers and crew in comfort throughout the stars, these ships provide a boost to tourism throughout the galaxy. They have a great deal of shielding... to keep your passengers safe.

Gameplay Analysis[]
"A pretty cool ship, both in looks and in functionality, this isn't a bad ship to get. When you get it, you can begin running charter missions to various places, which can be quite profitable. Somewhat slow, however, so make sure you purchase some upgrades so you're not pirate food." ― EVula Survival Guide
The Star Liner's expansive crew (highest in the galaxy) is great for tourists, but also works for boarding and capturing ships. Limited firepower makes it difficult to capture more powerful warships without using escorts. The Star Liner also features an incredible range, its 12 jumps being the highest of any non-Polaris or Vell-os ship.
Flying a Star Liner enables you to access Charter Flight missions from the BBS, wherein one carries a large number of passengers for 50k or 100k. All these missions will give a small boost to your legal rating based on where it was offered; which is good if you want to stay on good terms with a major power. If you want to stay on good terms with every major power, it will become a balancing act as entering the good graces of one major government typically means leaving those of their enemies. The more rewarding Charter Flights involve carrying a large number of passengers between Federation and Auroran space, skipping the border.

The Star Liner was made by Dave Williams, who claimed it as his after being shown the wireframe upon which he identified mistakes he made.
Appearance[]
The Star Liner is a trimaran-styled spaceship with dual nacelles to the port and starboard. The nacelles have viewing windows at the front. The main hull actually has a significant bilge that is not really visible in any of the standard views. The engines are unceremoniously attached to this bilge. A curved party hall is visible above decks.
